Auburn I.D. theft ring is
crushed
Sheriffs: Safeguard personal information
Four suspects are under arrest and more arrests are expected after Placer County Sheriff’s detectives broke up a large-scale identity theft ring Tuesday. The suspects allegedly stole at least $100,000 from victims across the county, according to sheriff’s department officials. Jayson P. Krack, 29, of Citrus Heights, and James M. Marich, 45, Shelly McCrory, 40, and Andrew Clifford, 23, all of Auburn, were all taken into custody at the Placer County Jail on dozens of charges related to stealing financial information. The suspects have allegedly been stealing victims’ financial information by breaking into mailboxes and cars, taking checkbooks, new checks sent from banks, credit card and bank account statements, according to Detective Dan Meier. They then manufactured checks on a home computer using the victims’ account information. They wrote checks to themselves and passed them at grocery and liquor stores and larger retailers such as Wal-mart, Rite Aid and Walgreens throughout the county. Sheriff’s officials urge citizens to install locking mailboxes and to remove all financial information from their vehicles, including checkbooks and mail. Check mail daily and always use U.S. Postal Service receptacles to post outgoing mail. ~ Staff report

Great work PCSO! They're lucky this isn't Iran or Iraq where their fingers would probably be chopped off so they could no longer type or write. It's the least they deserve for ruining lives of innocent and hard-working people.
Liars, cheaters & thieves...
I feel sorry for the victims of this I.D. theft.... Glad the crooks have been caught. But now starts the long road for the victims of fixing their credit ratings, creating new banking accounts, credit cards, fixing things with SSI etc. etc. phone call after phone call letter after letter to get their good names back.... I know.... been there and done that.
Where are the pics of the thieves?
Really his name is Krack LOL ! Maybe he should get off the "krack"
Remember folks, all of this is "alleged."
Wow, I used to go to school with Clifford. He was always the chubby kid that had to act goofy to get attention from girls. What the hell is who doing with these other people? The way that woman looks, I cant help but wonder if meth was a big part of this
Good Job Mary and the gang at Bank of the West in Auburn, CA....I understand that you guys were who alerted your Bank's Security department and then the Placer County Sheriff's to catch the culprits in the "ACT"....talking about SUPER SLEUTHS and "heads up" action....you guys deserve a pat on the back for getting criminals were they belong....BEHIND BARS!!!! Thank you!!!!!
Good job PCSO!
Life in prison without the possiblity of parole.
Hope they realize their selfish acts just caused a lot of grief for others. I went to school with Andrew as well and I remember him distinctively as the above comment stated. Hope you are embarrased about yourself now.
