Del Oro High’s girls cross country team slipped past regular-season champion Woodcreek to win the Sierra Foothill League finals on Friday, with Granite Bay third and Oakmont fourth. The Golden Eagles were led by the fourth-place run of Emma Freeman (18 minutes, 25 seconds) and Alissa Hood’s 10th-place finish (18:44). The Golden Eagles also had three other runners between 11th and 14th — Caitlin Devitt-Payne (11th,, 18:54), Megan Atkins (13th, 19:05) and Jessie Rozario (14th, 19:09) as their depth pushed them over the top for the team title at this race. Del Oro also took the junior varsity girls’ title.
